Kate Gosselin strikes again! The reality TV mom incited another controversy Thursday, June 19, after part one of her two-part TLC special, Kate Plus 8: The Sextuplets Turn 10, aired on the network.

The clip shows Gosselin and her kids (with ex-husband Jon Gosselin)—13-year-old twin daughters Mady and Cara, and 10-year-old sextuplets, Hannah, Joel, Leah, Alexis, Aaden, and Collin—playing a game of gaga ball. “It was a super, super fun game,” Gosselin says in the voiceover.

The footage shows the divorced mother of eight, 39, actively slapping the ball and playing an intense match against her little ones. “Hate away,” she continues, “but I have a problem with parents who let their kids win. Because nobody is going to let me win. While I’m saying ‘do your best,’ ‘work your hardest,’ ‘try your hardest,’ why am I, then, in a fun game letting her win?”

Suddenly, in the footage, Mady whines and claims injury.

“This is a dramatic moment,” Kate says to her twin daughter. “It’s fake,” she barks.

“Here Mady, I’ll spare you,” Kate says in the clip, slapping the ball directly at her daughter and ending the match. In TLC’s special, mama Gosselin leans in to give her daughter a victorious “love you” hug, Mady, clearly miffed by her mother’s actions, slaps Kate away. (The moment showed yet another peek at Kate’s sometimes-contentious relationship with Mady—whom she scolded live on the Today show in January for not speaking up.)

“Did it seem too harsh?” asks Kate in retrospect, “Was it the right thing to do?”
